The Idea
AI can do more than colourful pictures.
Mention AI and people often think of gimmicks: generated images, funny videos, chatbots without a real purpose. That picture is misleading. For small businesses and trades, the real benefit lies elsewhere: AI helps with exactly the tasks that get left behind in everyday life — drafting quotations, writing customer emails, answering reviews, understanding tenders. It does not replace office staff. But after just a short training session it can noticeably save time.
That is exactly what this format demonstrates: not visions of the future, but tools that lighten the load from the very next working day.
„I don't know how to get started.“
Many self-employed people don't know where to begin. Which tool, which task, which first step? The AI Breakfast provides exactly that entry point: guided, on your own device, with a real task from your own business.
„I don't have time.“
A fully booked business doesn't have two days for a seminar. That's why the format is a single morning — and the time invested pays back, because every participant goes home with a solved task and ready-made templates.
„I don't want my data going online.“
A legitimate concern — and a dedicated focus of the format. Participants learn concretely what may and may not be entered into an AI: anonymising instead of using customer names, which account types don't use data for training, and what rules the GDPR sets for everyday business.
There is something else the pilot aims to show: our region is considered structurally weak — and when it comes to digital topics, that's often taken to mean expertise must come from outside. That's not true. The experts are here locally. This format is hosted by a regional association, delivered by a trainer who lives here — and it takes place here: in Bräsen, part of the town of Coswig (Anhalt), right between Dessau-Roßlau and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, directly on the A9.

The event is run by the non-profit association Bräsen für alle e.V. The association strengthens the appeal and cultural life of rural areas and is committed to vibrant village life and digital participation. The venue is The Farm and Friends in Bräsen — an event and seminar location with full conference facilities, centrally located between Dessau-Roßlau and Lutherstadt Wittenberg, directly on the A9.

The partnership costs the participating institutions no budget. What is wanted is reach and trust.
Target Group and Learning Objectives
Ten places. Each with their own task.
Owners, managing directors and employees of small businesses and trades from the Wittenberg district and the Dessau-Roßlau region. No prior knowledge required. Participants bring their own smartphone or laptop.
The number of participants is deliberately limited to 10. This allows every participant to receive individual support during the practical session. From the 11th registration onward, only a place on the open waiting list is available; short-notice cancellations are filled from the waiting list.
After the AI Breakfast, participants will be able to:

explain in their own words what an AI language model can do — and what it cannot,
- 02
recognise the key risks (hallucinations, fraud) and handle them correctly in everyday life,

confidently decide which data may and may not be entered into an AI,
- 04
complete at least one concrete task from their business with AI support (e.g. quotation texts, customer communication, review responses),
- 05
select the right tool for their needs and assess the cost implications.

Every participant receives a one-page handout with the most important prompts for everyday business, data protection rules and links to the tools.

Seminar room with projector and WiFi at The Farm and Friends; ample parking on site.

A brief feedback round and questionnaire at the end; results are shared with the partners.

Registration is binding and free of charge. Ten places, then an open waiting list — from the 11th registration onward, we will transparently let you know that only a waiting-list place is available. Please name a task from your everyday business: this is exactly what you'll work on during the practical session.

The Trainer
No technology lecture. Tools that save time.
Steffen Baermann combines over 35 years of management experience in the B2B environment — including leadership roles at Cisco and Dell — with active teaching in sales management at UE Berlin, ISM Berlin and Rome Business School in Belgrade. He is the author of the book \u201eThe AI Tsunami\u201c and has for years brought AI topics to audiences without a technical background in a hands-on way. As the operator of The Farm and Friends and deputy chairman of the Bräsen für alle e.V. association, he is rooted in the region.
About SteffenPerspective after the pilot
If the pilot succeeds, the AI Breakfast will be put on a broader footing: as a regular offering for a small participation fee (envisaged: €35 to €50 per person, including breakfast) and/or via a suitable funding programme. The registration portal and waiting list make demand measurable — interest is established first, then investment follows.
